American Legion post to meet on Thursday
The American Legion Londagin-Hardcastle Post 159 regular business meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, at the Gentry Activity Center, 121 East Main Street in Gentry. Bring a brown bag lunch and join the post for fellowship at 6 p.m. Prospective members and guests are invited to attend. The post is a family-friendly post. All veterans (active duty, Reservists, and National Guard) are cordially invited to attend with no obligation. Community youth prayer and pizza rally planned
Beacon Baptist Church, Gravette Assembly of God, and Gravette United Methodist Churches are working on an opening event, "Community Youth Prayer & Pizza Rally," at 6 p.m. on March 21. Beacon Baptist Church will be the host. The event will feature a devotional and teaching time about The Lord's Prayer, as well as Christian music from local artist Mike Larson. A pizza supper featuring Simple Simon's pizza will be served, as well as soda and water from the Harps Store in Gravette and homemade cookies. The three churches hope to have participants from Gravette, Gentry, Decatur, Hiwasse, Bella Vista, Noel, and SW City come together at least quarterly for spiritual development and fun.
Spaghetti supper fundraiser
Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center at 1870 Limekiln Road in Gravette will hold a spaghetti supper fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27. The meal includes spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert, and a drink for a cost of $10. Dine-in or carry-out is available. The senior center is a nonprofit agency and relies heavily on donations. All are invited to come out and help support the Meals on Wheels program, which provides meals to homebound seniors in Gravette, Decatur, Sulphur Springs, Hiwasse, and Maysville areas.
Hospital seeking volunteers
Would you like to serve your community or need a way to make new friends while helping others? The Siloam Springs Regional Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers to serve in various areas: Information desk, ER, Surgery, Gift Shop, etc. The minimum time required is eight hours per month. Heritage Button Club Meetings
Do you have grandma's old tin full of buttons? Come to the Heritage Button Club meetings with the National Button Society. Meetings are educational and enjoyable and seek to preserve "all that is beautiful and historic in buttons." Meetings are held from 12 to 2 p.m. every third Friday at the Bentonville Public Library. Food pantry open in Highfill
First Baptist Church in Highfill operates a "once a month" indoor food pantry in the fellowship hall on the church grounds. The food pantry is open on the third Tuesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. Anyone who would benefit from this ministry may show up and register when the pantry is open.
Gentry Food Pantry open Tuesdays
GFA Pantry, located at the Gentry Assembly, 821 East Main Street in Gentry, is open every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients are asked to call or text 662-727-5157 for an appointment or email [email protected]. They will receive meat, dairy, fresh produce, canned and boxed goods, and occasionally household/cleaning products. Clients may park in the parking lot and enter the building to get signed in and receive their goods. Each family can come once a month. There are no restrictions based on where a client lives.
Friends of Library book sales set
Friends of the Gravette Public Library book sales will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at the Friends book sale room, 407 Charlotte Street S.E. (old library building). Enter through the east door.
Radio Club holds monthly meetings
The Bella Vista Area Radio Club holds monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. All radio amateurs and others interested in acquiring an FCC license are invited. The meeting location address is 3424 S. Downum Road in Springdale. FCC License exams are administered at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the Bella Vista Police Department at TowneCenter and also at 10 a.m. at the Springdale Museum of Ozark History. Sulphur Springs Library open
The Sulphur Springs Library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It has more than 7,000 items available for checkout, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, games, and puzzles. Membership is free for anyone with a Benton County address.
Kiwanis meetings held Fridays
Gravette Kiwanis Club meetings are held at 7 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month in the annex building next to the cafeteria at Ozarks Community Hospital and are open to the public. Members are asked to park in the back parking and enter through the back door. Breakfast will be provided.
Sulphur Springs Museum open
The Sulphur Springs Museum is open on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Gravette Lions Club meets Tuesdays
Gravette Lions Club meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center. Lunch is available. Visitors are welcome.
