The weight problems plaguing the population across the country are no surprise to those in the healthcare industry.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity among adults has risen significantly over the last 20 years, with 30 percent of U.S. adults being obese, totaling over 60 million people.

What’s more, sales of products in the diet industry run into the billions of dollars each year. Many adults with health issues are trying to find an easy fix. But the answer, according to experts, can’t be found in a magic pill that will help people change their life overnight. Rather, it’s a lifestyle change that involves exercise, diet and, most of all, the motivation to stick to the changes.

“People find it hard to believe that in my 40s I look better than I did 15 years ago,” explains Joy Ohayia, founder of QuantumQuest (www.quantumquestonline.com), a company specializing in motivating individuals and corporations to improve their body image. “The key is making healthy choices a part of your daily life. I made the changes to turn back the clock, and I believe others can, too.”

Ohayia, a certified personal trainer and wellness consultant, is the author of “Don’t Let ‘IT’ Get You! An Empowering Health and Fitness Guide for Women” (iUniverse, 2007), a guide to help women reach mental, physical and emotional health. Through the QuantumQuest System (TM): Perfect Combination, a 30-day program, which includes fitness counseling, a nutrition plan and motivational techniques, she’s helped people change their lives.

“Most people feel like they can’t change their body,” adds Ohayia. “Not true. By putting yourself first and making lifestyle changes, through diet and exercise, you can create a new image.”
