WORTHINGTON - Mini Market Lupita’s in Worthington has made changes to provide more access to healthy and nutritious foods for its customers. To celebrate that success, the store is hosting an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. A ribbon cutting will take place at 2 p.m.
Parga began her small business as a video rental store in 1991 and added groceries in 1994. Her business, which has since expanded to include a restaurant, also serves southeast Asian and Somali products.
In 2017, Mini Market Lupita’s was one of eight statewide projects that received funding through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s Good Food Access Program. It is also participating in the Community Wellness Partners Corner Store Grocery Program through Nobles County Community Services.
